1. Who we are
peech szn is a South African social app for gay, bi and queer men — for mates, dates, plans and access to queer and affirming professionals. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
2. You must be 18+
peech szn is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We remove accounts we believe belong to minors and report content involving minors to the authorities.
3. Your account
One account per person. Your login details are yours alone and you are responsible for all activity on your account. Information you give us must be true — an account created with false details may be removed.
4. Photos & content
Your public profile needs a real photo of you — headless torsos are fine, blank or fake profiles are not. No explicit or nude photos on public profiles. Every public photo is reviewed before it goes live, and we may decline any photo at our discretion. Private albums are yours: you choose the photos and who sees them, and screenshots are blocked in albums in the launch apps.
5. Your licence to us
Your content stays yours. So the app can work, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and transmit the content you upload, only for operating and improving peech szn. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep records by law.
6. Conduct
No harassment, hate speech, threats, stalking, spam, commercial solicitation outside the Pros section, impersonation, soliciting money, or sharing anyone’s photos, chats or personal details without their consent. No illegal activity of any kind. Blocking and reporting are one tap away and we review every report within 24 hours.
7. We do not vet people
We review photos and reports, but we do not run criminal background checks or identity verification on members. You alone decide who to talk to and who to meet. Be careful: meet in public first, tell a friend, and never send money to anyone you meet here.
8. Interactions are at your own risk
To the extent South African law allows, you release peech szn from claims arising out of the conduct of other members, online or offline — including disputes, harm or losses from meetings arranged through the app. We are not a party to what happens between members.
9. Paid membership
Membership is R69/month at our summer price and R99/month thereafter, billed monthly in advance and renewing automatically until you cancel. Cancel anytime, effective at the end of the paid period; fees already paid are not refunded except where the Consumer Protection Act requires it. Membership includes unlimited profiles on the grid and the scroll feed, group chats, and Peech elite matchmaking. Peech pros who list clients only cannot be added to group chats; pros with a hybrid profile can. Listing as a peech pro is free for a limited launch period. We intend to make pro registration part of paid membership later; we will keep the community updated and give notice in the app at least 30 days before that change takes effect. Businesses already listed on the date of that notice keep free access to peech pros for 90 days from the notice, after which paid membership applies to keep their listing.
10. Peech streek & the 100 club
Send at least one message on a day and that day is banked; consecutive banked days form your streak. An active streak earns the flame badge and increased visibility on the grid. Keep an unbroken streak for 100 consecutive days and your next 12 months of paid membership are free. Conditions: one reward per person and per account; non-transferable; no cash value or alternative. Days are counted by our systems on South African time and our count is final. Streaks built through automation, scripted messages, multiple accounts or other abuse do not qualify and may cost you the badge, the reward or the account. We may adjust or withdraw the programme before or after launch; where we do, banked streaks will be honoured or fairly converted.
11. Peech elite
Human matchmaking for paid members. Your questionnaire answers and matchmaking photos are confidential, seen only by our trusted matchmakers and used only to matchmake you. If we find an 80%+ mutual fit we share only a first name and contact number with each of you. We make no promise that a match will be found, and no promise about how any introduction turns out. If your paid membership lapses, or you delete your account or opt out of matchmaking, your matchmaking answers and photos are deleted from our systems within 30 days.
12. Your data (POPIA)
We process personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act. We store what you give us — nickname, email, phone, date of birth, photos, preferences and, if you opt in, matchmaking answers — to run the service. We never sell your data. Only your distance is ever shown to other members, never your location. You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or delete your account at any time. Matchmaking data follows the 30-day deletion rule in section 11.
13. Moderation & termination
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, harm other members, or expose us to legal risk — with or without notice, at our reasonable discretion. Paid periods on accounts closed for serious breaches are not refunded.
14. Our IP
peech szn — the name, logo, peech, design and software — belongs to us. You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell any part of the service, or use automated tools to harvest member data.
15. No warranties
The service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any member is who they say they are. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot be limited.
16. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent South African law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits are an essential part of the bargain — we could not offer the service at these prices without them.
17. You indemnify us
If your breach of these terms, your content, or your conduct toward other members leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and legal costs arising from it.
18. Changes
We may update these terms as the service grows. If a change is material we will tell you in the app, and continuing to use peech szn after that means you accept the updated terms. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest stand.
